Smart
Cycling Clinics
Smart
Cycling Clinics are free one-hour or less sessions, suitable for brown
bag lunches, designed for new or potential bike commuters. Feel
more comfortable cycling in traffic. Gain the fitness benefits
of making trips by bike. If you want to be a safer, more knowledgeable
cyclist, plan on attending! The clinic briefly covers basic BikeEd
information in a PowerPoint presentation and offers an opportunity for
questions and answers. Instructors are League Certified.
Some
employers have made the clinics at their worksites open to the public.
If you are not an employee, but wish to attend one of the worksite
sessions listed below, please RSVP as indicated.
If
you are an Employee Transportation Coordinator or someone else at a
major employer who would like to schedule a Smart Cycling Clinic during
March or April, please contact SABA. At least 10 attendees
are needed for each clinic.

SABA
BikeEd Scholarship Offer for Government Officials
The
Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates (SABA) announces a scholarship offer
for elected and appointed officials, government staff and members of
the media. The scholarships cover the costs of the League of American
Bicyclists' BikeEd Road I course.
If
you have not taken this course, we encourage you to do so. We also ask
that you pass word about the scholarship offer to others who meet eligibility
requirements.
SABA
BikeEd Scholarships
General
SABA
wants government officials making decisions
about cycling and media representatives who comment on transportation
to be knowledgeable about cycling skills, cycling safety, traffic principles
and road conditions. Therefore, it is encouraging officials to take
the League of American Bicyclists' basic BikeEd course, Road I, by offering
scholarships to cover course costs. The Road I course is taught
by League Certified Instructors and is generally 9-10 hours in length.
At the discretion of the instructor, it may be taught in sessions over
one, two or three days.

City council members and county supervisors.
Members of the media who report on transportation
